Travel Plans

Since we're staying in Italia for an extra year we've been able to spread out our trips a bit more knowing that we have more time to check them off our list.  I'll admit that I have thrown in a few more cities/places I'd like to visit as well now that we'll have more time.  Hopefully we'll be able to see everything that we want by the time we leave (February 2014), but if not I'll be grateful for everything we have been able to see while living in Europe.  My husband will go back to his "original" shop (the one he was in for the 1st year we were here) this coming February which means he'll be going TDY once in a while next year which can be tricky with trying to schedule trips.  We've been told he will not deploy on the next deployment rotation, but I take everything the military says with a grain of salt.  To go 4 years without a deployment would be AMAZING since he was deployed ALL THE TIME at our last base.

That being said, here's my our list of places we want to see before leaving Europe...

Our next trip that's booked for the end of this months is Plivitce Lakes National Park in Croatia.

A trip that we're tentatively planning for July is to Limassol, Cyprus.  We have a friend who's deployed there, so we'd like to go visit him!  The husband has vacationed deployed there twice for 4 months each time at our last base.

We have a Greek Isles cruise scheduled for September which I cannot wait for!  It also stops in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Both of us have no desire to go to France, but Paris is definitely on our list of must see places.  We'd also like to visit Normandy while we're there.

Amsterdam is on my must see list!  We tired to go this spring, but it was too expensive to book last minute.  We're looking at going for my next birthday (next May).

Edinburgh, Scotland.

Prague, Czech Republic

If I get to see all of those places I'll be one happy girl!  Of course there's some other places I'd like to see like Madrid, Sardinia, more of Tuscany (like Assisi), and Egypt (most likely won't happen), but I wouldn't bee too sad if we didn't get to.

Do you have any travel plans coming up?

  1. Amsterdam has been my favorite city so far and Prague was great too. (And cheap!!) We're going to Plitvice in June for 5 days. I'm so excited!

  2. I really loved Edinburgh, and Croatia looks amazing! Just learned about a "Norway in a Nutshell" tour that's supposed to be really amazing... maybe we'll squeeze that in before Normandy, Wales and Greece. It's kind of a charmed life over here, no?

  6. Have you heard of Blind Booking? A few of the places on your list are options. A friend told me about it and I googled it. If we had more time I'd do it! :)
